Digitising old tunes for my forthcoming and ludicrously overdue CVC entry, I stumbled upon an old demo for a song I wrote for Octafish (who are, incidentally also long overdue their CVC entry).
I remember how I eagerly arrived at rehearsal and told the boys I had a new song.
"It's a bit like Violent Femmes!" I said. We retired to Tom's car and slotted it in the tape player.
"What do you think?" I said 3 minutes later.
A long pause.
"Maybe we should work a bit more on War Pigs," said Tom.
This is that very rough demo:

I like it a lot - as Jim Carey would say... It kinda reminds me a bit of Jethro Tull, at least in the vocals and even the lyrics (apart from the ooh lallaallaa bit at the end) - I guess you may be mortified to be compared to a prog rock band Karl!!
I would love to add more of your stuff to the main CVC site - just send me some mcguffins whenever you are ready and i'll splurge them on to a webpage. I reckon we need a Mr. Twain or Karl Karkass page up there or maybe combine the two acts just under the title of Karl? What do you think?
Finally, Karl, do you have any of my DVDs? I am trying to track down a few movies I lent out but can't remember who too, I have a vague memory that perhaps I lent you a couple one time when you popped over. Anyway, the flicks I'm looking for include They Live, THX 1138 and Matrix Revolutions.
Ohh laaa laal allallaalaa!
Hey Foggy - check your email. I sent you a Karl Karcass/Twain write up yesterday - just stick it up under my first name.
I do have one of your DVDs - Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde. Will have to let you have it next time we bump into each other. Or organise a time to bump into each other.
Wow that's a classic movie!! Hey by the way - some twat hacked my email - could you please resend it to wickedcity1234@yahoo.co.uk --- cheers -- fog
