Coming Soon!

After some tough negotiations we can announce the confirmed live line-up of Colne Valley Chaos supergroup The All New Lucky Boys:

Jason - vocals
Kips - Guitar
Tom - Guitar
Matt - Keys and samples
Karl - Bass
Miles - Drums

The project goal is to put together a set of around 8-10 songs from the CVC back catalogue, rehearse them, then perform at a well publicised gig in Huddersfield, home of Colne Valley Chaos. That could be the end of it - or the beginning of something beautiful...

We have to decide on a set list before going forward, folks. Some of my fave GWF possibilities would be:

Jive Not Jive
Not All There
Song About Nothing
Magic Chair
Ghost Daddy
At Tea
School Daze
Don't Like me 'cos I'm Stupid

Other mooted tunes include:

Shell Suit Family Robinson (All New Lucky Boys)
The Mad Mind (All New Lucky Boys)
Me and Tom (Don't Get it On) (All New Lucky Boys)
Bay City Brother (Octafish)
Spacehopper (Octafish)
Biscuits (Jon Thomas)
Baby Cheeses (All New Lucky Boys)

Would welcome further suggestions - especially for do-able Gibs tunes!

It would be cool to do some brand new tracks also - as for gibs stuff - here's a few ideas:

Boffo
Slap Your Grannies Thighs Ten Times a Week
Daffodil
Barry Craps Guide to Chinese Takeaway Food
Malibu

Just joking - or am I!!! ;-)

Probably some of the most possible and ultimately most rounded Gibs songs with any degree of length - i.e. long enough to be worth doing Live, would be as follows.

- Grandma We Love You
- Animal Farm
- Childhood Years
- Daffodils

They'd all need the complete re-work treatment and I'm already beginning to think how the timings and endings could be modified for live.

Other songs may spring to mind, but that's it for now.

K O - Here's some more serious suggestions (ish)

PRIAPUS - PEGASUS (!!!!)

It could be interesting to try and compose one of Jason's 2 minute wonder tracks such as:

MAJESTIC VACUUM CLEANER
or
SECRET SANDWICH

SATAN'S WILLY - TANYA THE DARK ONE (maybe change some of the lyrics for public consumption).

LAFFMAD - PHILOSOPHISING

PAGANS - SOAPBOX (yeahh!)
PAGANS - WASH

as for gibs - it may take some reimagining and rejigging but perhaps:

SUNDAY DRIVERS- based on simple guitar riff
FIELD IN CORNWALL
WIGGY WINGNUT

In my fantasyworld I would suggest PALOMINO - but I don't think Jason would be up for salvering like a maniac on stage.

I simply would not like to put the audience through Palomino. 'Grandma we love you' goes some of the way, however, I think it could be even funnier when sung seriously. Just the opening line - Oh my Grandma's got six legs - should be enough to set the scene.

Grandma is just tooo weird - I think any of the other three would be great.

Are any of the Laffmad/Priapus tracks (intentionally) funny?

I think the ANLB should be, above all, funny.

Well - Priapus is funny in that OTT prog rock kinda way, we could ham it up a bit - LAFFMAD are more serious for sure.

Can you chaps put together a CD or download with your suggested tracks on?

Also, from what I remember of Sunday Drivers, that sounds like a winner to me.

Sunday Drivers is really a punk rock song done on a casio keyboard so easy to do live - i'll upload a sample if I can find it on tape somewhere.
